Evidence destroyer does not just delete files. It shreds them up to 16 times first!

File shredding

Shredding files with Evidence destroyer couldn't be easier. Click "Add files" where you can select individual files or the complete contents of a directory to add to the shred list. When you have selected all the files you wish to shred they will be displayed in the shred file list. You can now remove selected files from the list or remove the entire list and start again. In the options section, you can decide on what strength you wish to shred the files with and is explained in the options section. Now simply click "Shred". The progress of the shredding process will be displayed in the form of a bar graph and the amount of files shredded will also be displayed. When completed, the files will be completely unrecoverable. Adding and deleting files and folders can be accessed with shortcut keys. Press F2 to add files, F3 to add folders, F4 to delete a selected file and F5 to clear the shred list. When viewing, all files and folders including hidden and read only, will be displayed and able to be shred.

Email & newsgroups

The only secure way to delete emails or newsgroups is to shred them first. Programs like Outlook express just delete the files leaving them fully intact on your hard drive. To do this, you select the browser you are using and load all the email folders and newsgroups you are subscribed to. When you double click on a file in the window, the icon will turn red denoting that the file is ready to be cleaned then just click "Shred". Double clicking again will turn the icon blue. This means that the file will be cleaned each time you use Pc & internet clean either manually or automatically. Clicking again will turn the icon green denoting that no action will be taken for the selected file. When you are ready, just click "Shred" and Evidence destroyer will securely shred and remove all trace of the files marked with a red icon. When you have viewed any newsgroups, do not unsubscribe otherwise your browser will simply delete the files, always use Evidence destroyer. To clean email folders, the entire folder will be shredded.

Pc & internet clean

When you surf the internet or use your pc, details of everything you do are kept in certain areas. Even using Internet's clear history will not securely delete these files. These details can be easily removed and made unrecoverable. Simply check the sections that you wish to clean and press clean. Depending on what you have selected, your pc may need to reboot when the process is finished. In this section, you can select all internet related files, details of paintbrush and other files as well as selecting as many files and folders as you like. When you have selected the required options, they will be saved and remain the same each time you start Evidence destroyer.

Disk clean

Disk clean will remove any trace of files that were previously deleted without using Evidence destroyer. The disk clean process will overwrite any files that were deleted and are not visible but are still recoverable and make them unrecoverable. When you have selected the drive you want to clean, press the start button. The disk clean process can be cancelled at any time and will take approximately 40 minutes depending on the size of your drive. While using Disk clean, you should not use any other program on the pc to make sure the disk clean process completes correctly. You may also see a warning appear that you are low on disk space. This is normal and you should just ignore the message. Disk clean can be performed on all hard drives and most removable drives.
